It all makes almost too much sense...

I'm resuming work on my Virtual Book Tour, thinking about how it all comes together, and how each of the media really support one another. A PEAPOD Mix really is the most "multi-dimensional" way to get your ideas and your creations out there. It goes beyond creating a single "thing" and hawking it to buyers... into the realm of "thought leadership" (much as I seek to resist hype-like corporate-speak)... allowing you to not only showcase your work, but the full range of your abilities and your creativity, as well.

Print publishing on-demand makes it incredibly easy to get your work out there. And it lets you put something tangible out there to the world.

Electronic publishing (like blogging or building websites) gives you a great way to get in front of people you normally wouldn't reach. And you can strike up conversations with people, as well, if you've got comments enabled on your blog(s). Or start trading e-mails with people, and see what happens.

And audio... let's not forget audio. Not everyone absorbs information through their eyes. Increasingly, people are going aural, "consuming information" (again, sorry for the corporate-speak-like expression) via their ears, rather than their eyes.

A PEAPOD Mix lets you reach people on many, many levels -- real-world and online... visual and audible... real-time and time-shifted. It lets book readers get into the novelty of audio, and it lets audiophiles experience the ideas they hear in tangible ways. Provided you have a point of view and you're willing to be constant with your production and keep people in the loop, you can really have an impact in the world.

After all, changing the world is really what this is all about.

Stats Count for Fuel and VeryPeri

Looking at the Fuel Virtual Book Tour podcast stats, versus the VeryPeri podcast stats:

January, 2006 Totals

Fuel Virtual Book Tour
1014 hits to the RSS feed file
66 downloads of the MP3

VeryPeri
426 hits to the RSS feed file
94 downloads of the MP3

February, 2006 Total (as of 2/18)

Fuel Virtual Book Tour
539 hits to the RSS feed file
17 downloads of the MP3

VeryPeri
241 hits to the RSS feed file
37 downloads of the MP3

So, although there have been more hits to the RSS for the Fuel VBT, VeryPeri has been more popular, so far. That means I've got to get more content out there. And so I shall.
